Amrita Bhuj

Amrita Bhuj has studied Bollywood dance since she was eight years old with various instructors of the Mona Khan Company! She continues to pursue her passion with the Mona Khan Company. She also dances for Evergreen High School’s dance team and has been part of various cultural shows. At the Mona Khan Company, Amrita has been an assistant instructor for several classes since 2010 and quickly rose to becoming a primary instructor! At school, several teachers have recognized her leadership skills; she is the Debate Captain for the Speech and Debate Club and a Project Manager for the Desi Club.

As an instructor, Amrita believes that as students learn new and challenging techniques, steps and choreography - the aspect of fun should not be lost. She guides her students to bring out emotions with each dance step and to really enjoy the process of dancing to exciting Bollywood music.

Dance for her is pure enjoyment. It is an art that allows her to express herself. She is hungry for the challenges that different styles bring and the effort required to master a specific dance routine. She thinks it is the most creative way to stay fit!

Outside the studio, Amrita can be found spending time with her family and friends. She loves traveling (her favorite place is Alaska!). She is also a trained Indian Classical singer and sings all kinds of songs (if you ask her, she may just sing for you in class!).
