Archana Ganesan

 

Archana Ganesan learnt Bharatnatyam in Chennai, India, under Lalitha Sreenivasan for 2 years and Swarnamalya Ganesh for 4 years. As a child, she used to jump at every opportunity to dance! Consequently she dabbled in multiple forms of Folk and Classical Dance, both Indian and Western. She was a part of her high school and college dance teams, where she also began exploring choreography.

 

She began assisting and then became a primary instructor of the Mona Khan Company since 2010. Archana is also a part of the Principal Emerging Performers program. As an instructor, she believes that everyone can dance and find something unique in it that is really enjoyable! She strives to help her students to improve their technique, perform each move to the best of their ability, all while having a lot of fun.

 

Teaching provides her with the opportunity to share her love for dance and to impart the knowledge and training she has acquired from many amazing teachers. It gives her immense pleasure and satisfaction to see her contribution in a student’s growth as a dancer.

 

Archana feels that dancing pushes her physical and emotional boundaries and makes her discover new things about herself every single day. When she dances, she is transported to her very own world, void of anything but the music and movement. And there is no feeling on earth to beat the adrenaline rush she gets from performing on stage!

 

Outside the studio, Archana can be found glued to her laptop writing code for Cisco. She is also the Website Coordinator for the Mona Khan Company. She loves to cook, read, travel, spend time with family and friends and every now and then you will find her making crafts and trinkets. She likes trying out new things and activities, the most recent one being hiking. She also loves to shop and is known for her addiction to movies!
