Costume FAQ

1. Do I get a costume for the upcoming show?

Yes! Each student will be provided a part of a costume to wear on stage. The fee for this is included in the class cost already paid by you and no additional payment is required.

2. Do I need to do anything to get a costume?

Yes! All students of all age groups (including Bacha Party) need to submit measurements in order to get a costume. The links to the forms are in your registration email.

3. When should I submit my costume size?

Measurements are due by end of day Friday, September 8, 2023. If this date has passed, please refer to question 5 below

4. How do I submit my costume size?

Review the list of measurements we need from each student performer in a linked form below, enter
them into the form and submit!

Female Students || Male Students

  •  If you have multiple student performers in your family, please submit the above form for each performer separately
  • If you are performing in more than one class, please submit your measurements for each class in a separate submission

5. What if I didn't enter my measurements on time, can I still get a costume?

When we don’t receive measurements for students, we order a generic large size costume in the age group of the class the student is in. The costume may or may not fit, and any alterations required to make the costume bigger or smaller is the responsibility of the student. Please email the costume team immediately and copy your instructor on the email to let them know you did not submit your measurements. Depending on how far into the costume production process we are, we will try our best to accommodate your measurements.

6. I am confused about my measurements, what should I do?

First, review the tips and photos listed in the costume submission form (see question 4 for links). Then, if your questions aren’t answered, email the costume team at least 24 hours before the costume submission deadline (Friday, September 8), and they will guide you so you can submit accurate measurements!

7. If I filled in the wrong measurements of need to update what I filled in, what can I do?

You can re-submit your measurements by the date specified in Question 3 above. We will use the most recent entry. If the date has passed, email the Costume Team.

8. Will I need to provide any part of my costume?

Given the huge financial setbacks we have incurred, coupled with inflation and cost of goods and labor, America’s Got Bollywood will be ‘back to the basics’ this year.

Students will receive part of a costume, and will need to supplement with additional items (for example: leggings, pants, tops, shoes, accessories, etc). Previously, we were able to source a huge number of custom made, ethnic costumes from India. This won’t be entirely possible for the November 2023 show, as our India costume vendors are unable to produce costumes within our timeline due to their changed circumstances. We have identified alternatives that we think will still do justice to your performance on stage ~ we promise to do our BEST (and you know how important that is to us!).

9. My costume fits me, but not perfectly. What should I do?

Our goal is to provide each student with the best fitting costume as possible. When buying a piece of clothing at a store, one may have to alter the length, take the waist in slightly or perhaps adjust the sleeve to make the length more suitable. To achieve a perfect fit, you may have to make slight adjustments to your costume, even though you have provided exact measurements. If you are having significant issues with your costumes, we are here to help! Please get in touch with us via email within 24 hours of your class costume distribution. Your email should include all the details sent to you prior to the costume distribution.

10. Where can I send my ideas for costumes, special requests, issues, etc?

Email us with any costume suggestions, ideas or any special requests you may have. We would love to hear from you and we will try our best to accommodate your requests. Send these ideas before the costume measurement deadline (Friday, September 8th) so we can work on possibly incorporating your ideas.
