Quarterly Classes
Drop-In Classes
Students can drop-in to a Basic level class without prior enrollment. In Q1 and Q3 (non-performance quarters), students are welcome to drop-in to the first or second class of the quarter. In Q2 and Q4 (performance quarters), students can drop in to the first class only. We do not allow drop-ins for classes that are Intermediate level or higher.
If a class is full, we will not be able to accommodate drop-in students. Check the status of classes here.
Students under 18 years of age require a guardian to sign them into the class, without which, a student will not be able to participate in the drop-in class.
Age Groups
Our classes are for kids ages 3&4 (Bacha Party), 5-8, 9-12, teens and adults. We often have students who are well into their 60s also join our classes! Depending on physical conditions, we also have a special ‘Jollywood’ class for seniors at the India Community Center in Milpitas. Read more about Jollywood.
Attire and Shoes
Students should come to class in comfortable clothing that is easy to move in like workout/track pants and t-shirts. Jeans are not allowed. Sneakers or dance shoes are required.
Costumes
Students enrolled in a performance quarter receive a costume for America’s Got Bollywood! We have lots of costume-related answers here.
What to Bring to Class
Students are required to bring a water bottle to class. Additionally, proof of vaccination (2 doses of Pfizer or Moderna, or 1 dose of J&J) at least 14 days prior to the class, along with photo I.D. are required to be shown at the beginning of your first class for all vaccine eligible students ages 5 and up.
Attendance
Attending all classes is highly encouraged. If a student will be missing a class, they are requested to send an email to the instructor in advance.
During performance quarters, if a student misses more than one class, the student may not be allowed to participate in the showcase. Attending the last two classes before the performance as well as the technical rehearsal is mandatory during the performance quarter.
There are no make up sessions or pro-rated fees for any missed classes.
Class Levels
We have four levels: Basic, Intermediate, Advanced and Master. Read more here.
All new students should register for the Basic level class in the appropriate age group. Students with prior dance experience may skip the Basic class – see more details in ‘Skipping Class Levels.’
For continuing students, based on the student performance at a level:
- The instructor may recommend a student for evaluation to a higher level class.
- The instructor may recommend a lower level that is appropriate for the student’s training and growth.
Evaluations for Class Promotions
New Students:
If a student has prior dance experience, they can attend an audition to be evaluated for a higher class.
Continuing Students:
Promotion to a higher level class is based on two things:
- Recommendation from instructor of current class level
- Passing a student evaluation conducted by our Evaluations Team every session
- Post promotion to a level, continuing in the class is subject to student performance at that level.
Skipping Class Levels
New students who have prior dance experience can choose to attend an audition to be evaluated for placement into a higher level class.
Continuing students: See section on ‘Evaluations for Class Promotions’
Taking a Break Between Quarters
If a student takes a break between quarters, they may re-join at the level they were previously enrolled in. If they take a break for four or more consecutive quarters, we recommend they enroll in a lower level class to refresh their technique.
If a student is promoted to a higher level class and takes a break for more than two quarters before joining the higher level class, they will be required to attend the student evaluations again.
Age Proof
For the Bacha Party and 5-8 year old classes, parents may be required to submit a proof of age of the child if requested by the instructor.
Bacha Party - Toileting and Parent Involvement
Toilet training must be completed before enrolling your child in this class. Children ages 3 and 4 year old must be out of diapers at the time of enrollment.
One parent per child must be present in the lobby or outside the studio during the entire time of the class in case a child needs their parents help during the class. A child’s parent is responsible for taking their child to the restroom during the class.
Pick Up Policy
Children and teens should be picked up by their parent/guardian at the class end time. Parents/guardians who are late may be charged a fee if the instructor has to wait for the child or teen to be picked up.
Watching A Class
Parents, family (including kids!) and friends will not be allowed into the studio when the class is in session. For information on recording a class, refer to the ‘Video Recording of Class’ section.
Video Recording
Video recording is allowed during the last 5 minutes of a class. This recording is solely to be used to help students recap and rehearse what was taught in class. Any misuse of in-class recordings may result in termination from the program. In addition, these videos cannot be published on any social media platform.
Instructors will record a video at the end of each class and send a link to students. This video is for review and practice at home! Any misuse of in-class recordings may result in termination from the program. In addition, these videos cannot be published on any social media platform.
Class Songs
The instructors along with our Quality Control team determine concepts and specific songs for each class. We often do a medley of songs for classes. We frequently introduce new concepts and dance styles to classes which makes for a very fun, challenging and unique class experience quarter after quarter.
Student Performances
In non-performance quarters (Q1 and Q3), there is a 10-minute in-class presentation at the end of the last class. In performance quarters (Q2 and Q4), all students enrolled in quarterly classes have the opportunity to perform at the Bay Area’s largest Bollywood resident show, America’s Got Bollywood!
Positions for the Performances
Positions are assigned at the sole discretion of the instructor and are based on students’ memorization of the routine, execution of choreography, performance skills (like facial expressions) and attendance, to name a few of the criteria taken into consideration.
Student Tickets for America's Got Bollywood
For the performance quarters (Q2 and Q4), the class price includes a free student ticket to watch America’s Got Bollywood. Students are assigned seats with the rest of the class in the student seating section.
If enrolled students cannot perform in the show, they can still use their free student ticket to watch the show. Instructors should be informed so they can plan accordingly.

In addition to the early enrollment discounted rate, we have additional discounts available for the quarterly dance class. See details.
Discounts are typically offered each session! Check out the the in-person class page for more details here.
