America’s (Still Got) Bollywood!

Performance & COVID Information and Waiver

Here we are together, gearing up for an on-stage performance at America’s Got Bollywood. We’re still here. You’re still here. That is a lot to be grateful for. To this incredible community, who supported us with good wishes, care and concern, class registrations and fundraising donations during the pandemic…we wouldn’t be here without you. You are our raison d’être. Always.

The student showcase will be held on the weekend of November 19 and November 20 at the Chabot College Performing Arts Center in Hayward. After two long pandemic years, there are no words to describe how much we have longed to celebrate our culture, roots, and each other, by dancing, performing and being together! We are EXCITED!

Everything is different, and everything has changed since 2020. And our beloved show will be different, too. Given the huge financial setbacks we have incurred, coupled with inflation and cost of goods and labor, America’s Got Bollywood will be ‘back to the basics’ this year.

It’s going to be a downsized version of what we had in the past, for example, students will receive part of a costume, and will need to supplement with basics (leggings, pants, tops, etc).

We promise to do our BEST (and you know how important that is to us!). Our teams have begun planning a meaningful and wonderful show (we’re a little rusty after this long break, but the pandemic brain fog is clearing fast!)

Show Cancellation:

A pivot may be necessary if county guidelines change in response to COVID variants and risks. Additionally, if we don’t have enough registrations, we may also have to pivot. In both these cases, we will convert the 9-week performance session into an 9-week non-performance session. If this occurs in the first week of the quarter, we will refund the difference between the performance and non-performance session. After the second week of classes, no refunds will be issued, and the show will be postponed.

We hope that you come back to dancing and performing with an open heart, and that you are able to find what you’re looking for in what is, not what was (this is something we have to constantly come back to as we develop this show!). We look forward to seeing you soon, and we cannot wait to cheer you on as the curtain opens for your class performance at America’s Got Bollywood, Fall 2022!
